The Council of International
Programs USA (CIPUSA) hosted a group of arts
festival managers, a Ministry
of Culture & Sports
representative, city &
federal tourism
representatives and arts
management educators
from Georgia, a former
Soviet country from
Wednesday, August 19th to
Wednesday, September 9th. The
main goal of the program is
to help Georgian arts
festival organizers learn
how to promote, plan and
organize arts festivals
through government and
private sector funding, as
part of the wider tourism
development strategy.
The group will attend
several local and regional
arts festivals during their
program to gain firsthand
knowledge about how
festivals are organized.
They will also have the opportunity to
meet with organizers of
several local festivals
including The Cleveland
International Film Festival,
Boston Mills Arts Festival,
Ingenuity Fest, Vintage Ohio
Wine Festival, Tri-C Jazz
Fest, Parade the Circle,
Cain Park Arts Festival and
many more.
